Don`t struggle to perform TKN, the controller is programmed to ramp the temperature of the block to 160C and hold that temperature for 60 minutes. Then the block temperature automatically ramps to 380C over the course of 60 minutes and holds that temperature for an additional 30 minutes. Temperature, ramp rate, and hold times are easily programmed for other procedures. Up to 8 methods with 20 steps each can be stored in the Touch Screen Controller.
To withstand the highly corrosive nature of the TKN procedure, the high-temperature block is encased in 316 stainless steel. The controller is independent from the block and should be placed outside of the fume hood to reduce exposure to acid fumes.
HotBlock TKN units come in two configurations 28 wells and 54 wells. Both models use the same digestion tubes, including threaded tubes which are compatible with the SimpleDist System. Choose between two controller options the base controller for basic operation or the advanced touch-screen controller which can also be used with our HotBlock Pro system.
