Hu-Friedy - Iodine Test Strips
Iodine test strips are used to determine the level of iodine present in Dental Unit Waterlines. These test strips are for use with all iodinated dental unit waterline treatment products, including the DentaPure™ Cartridge and Hu-Friedy Waterline Filter. It is recommended to check the iodine level at approximately 11 months, or as you approach 240L of water to ensure that the iodine output has not fallen below 0.5ppm – particularly if you have a very busy practice.

Note the following:
- If the iodine parts per million (ppm) level reads below 0.5, replace your treatment product.
- If the ppm level reads 0.5 or greater, continue normal use for another week and then re-check levels.
- Iodine test strip use is technique sensitive. Be sure to read the instructions on the bottle for Method A and refer to the alternate, more detailed directions for the most accurate reading.
