HPS - Hygienic (Sanitary) Pigs
HPS hygienic (sanitary) pigs are specially designed for highly effective, reliable and efficient hygienic pipeline pigging. Used by many of the world’s largest liquid processing companies, they’re suitable for a wide range of products. These include food and beverages, chemicals, paints, coatings, lubricating oils, household and homecare products, personal care liquids, pastes and gels, cosmetics and many other applications.
The term “Pigging” refers to the operation of forcing a flexible projectile (called a Pig), through a product transfer pipeline. Because the pig diameter is slightly larger than the internal pipe diameter, it forces the product along the pipe, cleaning the pipe as it goes and leaving very little, if any, residue. Pigs need to be magnetic to enable detection, automation and control.
High Quality, Long Lasting Pigs in a Range of SizesWe manufacture our process pigs in a range of sizes: from 1 inch to 8 inches diameter. All HPS pigs are bi-directional, which is a major advantage in pigging system design and process efficiency. They are extremely high-quality, robust and long-lasting: they can be used many times without replacement. Their silicone-based construction gives the pigs a long working life expectancy, and they can be steam cleaned (cleaned in place or “CIP’d” if required) to 250°C without degradation. Our hygienic pigs are also made from material that meets the requirements of FDA regulations.

Ideal for product recovery, liquid transfer, and pipeline cleaning, HPS pigs have a typical recovery efficiency of 99.5% from full pipelines. With long life expectancies unmatched in the industry, they can travel around 1.5D bends while maintaining full product recovery rates
