The IDROCELL grey-water system can reduce drinking water consumption simply and safely. Drain water from the shower, bathtub and wash basin (grey-water) is returned to a hygienically pure state by passing it through the IDROCELL system. Water treated in this manner can be used again for toilet flushing, irrigation or for cleaning purposes (not for drinking water). The IDROCELL grey-water system is mainly functional on hotels, guest houses, tourist plants, compounds, campings, fitness centres, gymnasiums, swimming pool, large buildings, highway stop, and companies with showers. IDROCELL Underground Series are availaible for installations under green spaces or areas with lightweight drive, and IDROCELL Above Ground Series for installation in utility rooms.

PROCESS DESCRIPTION
The IDROCELL grey-water system is an Ultrafiltration membrane system which allows the retention of soluble macromolecules and each substance larger than molecular pore of membrane.
The IDROCELL purification process is composed by several stages:
1) coarse filtering;
2) untreated grey-water storage (one or more tanks);
3) ultrafiltration with membranes (one or more bioreactors);
4) purified water storage (one or more tanks).
At the begging of process, grey water is treated mechanically through a coarse filter in order to remove any suspended solids (lint, fibers and hair). An automatic backwash unit keeps the filter plate clean and efficient. During next stage, grey water is pumped to the bioreactors, in which are installed ultrafiltration membranes. The system is designed in order to remove all biodegradable substances, as soaps rich in surfactant, thanks to specific microorganisms. After, with a physically pore width of 35 nm (2.500 times finer than a human hair) all solid particles, germs and individual absorbed viruses are safely retained by the membranes. An optimised air flushing process with periodically increasing air bubbles, ensures the filter plates are continually cleaned. This extremely efficient method of self-cleaning increases the life of the system considerably and reduces the maintenance cost to an absolute minimum. Thanks to the very low remaining nutrient value (BOD5 < 5 mg/L), the ultrafiltered and purified water is suitable to be reused in different applications. In case of a lack of process water the automatic mains water back up system will be activated and ensures an safe water supply all the time.
ULTRAFILTRATION MEMBRANE
Submerged ultrafiltration modules are composed by robust plastic plate covered on both sides with an ultrafiltration membrane.
Wastewater flows from an external source through the membrane inside the plate before being drawn through a filtrate collector by a negative pressure of only 0,1 bar.
Particles, bacteria and even virus are securely blocked physically. Fine air bubbles combined with the absolutely unique structure of the plates, produce a self-cleaning that continuously cleans membrane surfaces in an environmentally friendly manner. This is why Idroclear filters need chemical cleaning only once or twice a year.
IDROCELL SUPPLY INCLUDES:
Grey water reuse system mod. IDRCELL Underground/Overground Series composed by the following sections: initial grey-water storage, treatment bioreactor with ultrafiltration technology and final filtered water storage.
The system will be complete of:
- prefabricated cylindric monobloc tanks for under-ground/overground installation in high-density polyethylene equipped with manhole, inlet and outlet nozzles;
- bioreactor equipped with suitable frame for ultrafiltration membrane modules made in PES and pore diameter 35nm (number of modules, size and surface of the membrane to be defined in relation to the daily flow rate of grey-water).
IDROCELL system will include also the following electro-mechanical equipment: self-cleaning coarse filter with stainless steel mesh, monophase bioreactor feed pump, blower for membranes module aeration, permeate extraction pump, air diffusors with EPDM membrane for fine bubble aeration, and automatic mains water back up system. Electric control panel with automatic manage system for all operating processes, visual mal-function message, available connection with GSM for remote management - and everything necessary for the proper operation of the system.
