AKG Group was founded in 1919 in Hofgeismar, Germany and began as a repair shop for replacement heat exchangers in the automotive industry. Over the past 100 years, we have grown from a small production facility into a worldwide manufacturer still operating as a private, family-owned company.

AKG is a fourth generation, global family company, which specializes in the manufacturing and production of customer-focused, innovative high-performance heat exchangers, cooler modules and cooling systems.

What began as a specialized company for repairs and the production of replacement coolers in 1919, developed after 30 years to one of the leading manufacturers of coolers and heat exchangers in Europe, which produced the first series coolers in the automotive industry.

Over the years AKG has expanded to be active worldwide to support our global customers. AKG built new manufacturer facilities and sales companies in India, Turkey, Japan, China, Korea, Latvia and Brazil.

AKG is also established in America, which includes our sister plants AKG North operations in Mitchell, South Dakota and AKG of America with AKG Thermal Systems in Mebane, North Carolina.

AKG is constantly developing new technology to meet customer applications.

After more than 95 years, with constant innovation and development, AKG has established 12 manufacturing facilities worldwide and 10 sales offices supported by 2,500 employees.

AKG makes heat exchangers in the fields of compression technology, construction machinery, compressed air systems, automotive industry, forestry, mining, defense and the household appliances industry.
