Innovation

Just a few short years after Fred started the company we redefined the fan industry. In 1952 we became the 1st fan company to design & sell a centrifugal fan w/an airfoil blade.

The Airfoil Advantage

The airfoil wheel creates a smooth lifting airflow, requiring less horsepower to deliver comparable air volume, while reducing noise levels. This meant that fans could produce the same airflow requirements as the competition but with 20% less energy use!

Ever Expanding Product Line & Continued Growth

We didn’t stop there. Fred’s ambition led to continuous growth & industry leading innovation. Initial fans designed for light industrial & HVAC, but Fred saw potential for more & fans were designed for drying grain in grain silos & the vane axial fan line was born. From there the Chicago Blower product line & capabilities expanded rapidly & we released Packaged Forced Draft Fans, Radial Bladed Fans, Pressure Blowers, Panel Fans, Plug Fans, & more.

Chicago Blower’s dedication to quality is evident by the certifications we’ve acquired throughout the years. We have been an Air Movement and Control Association International (AMCA) member since 1961, assuring our fans have the highest performance and sound level ratings.

In 1998 we became ISO 9001 certified, an internationally recognized standard for establishing a quality management system. In 2018 we also became AAR M-1003 certified, assuring our customers that we meet all Association of American Railroads Quality Assurance Program requirements.

In 2009, we released the Packaged Backward Inclined Fan, originally designed for the Dust Collection industry. Two years later, we released our High Efficiency Plug Fan, drastically increasing our high temperature plug fan capabilities. In 2014 we created the perfect general line & heavy duty custom fan hybrid, when we released our High Pressure Backward Curved Fan. We have since increased sizes and capabilities of several fan lines, including our Packaged Forced Draft (PFD) Fan, and Single Stage Pressure Blowers. We recently developed an all new Pre-Engineered Backward Curved Fan as well, and continuously challenge ourselves by constantly developing new ideas to increase capacity of current projects while designing new products that will meet the ever changing needs of our customers. While remaining proud of our past, we continue to grow and plan for the future by expanding our product line through innovative engineering, increasing our capabilities and environmental safety efforts, and always adapting to the evolving needs of our customers.

Longevity

Over 75 years after our inception, “Chicago” fans and blowers are recognized as the trusted industry standard for quality, reliability, and ability to serve a wide range of applications. With the help of over 100 manufacturers` representatives selling for us throughout the United States and Canada as well as international licensees in twenty-three other countries who manufacture and sell our products, you can find Chicago Blower fans all across the globe. Some examples include the Sydney Opera House in Australia, the Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., the United Airlines Terminal in Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, the Chicago “El Tracks” with the CTA, and more.
