Wastewater is taken to the gravity or pumping and ventilation unit depending on the location of the facility and the waste water channel, and the organic materials contained therein are converted into carbon dioxide and water by aerobic bacteria. In order to provide aerobic conditions, air is given to the environment with the help of blowers and diffusers. The wastewater, which removes the organic pollution in the ventilation unit, passes to the settling unit together with the bacterial shackles. Here, the solid and liquid are separated from each other, allowing the bacterial balls to settle. The purified water taken from the resting unit is disinfected by chlorination before being given to the receiving environment.

If desired, the treated water can be filtered and used for garden irrigation. In order to keep the amount of bacteria in the aeration tank constant, the bacteria balls (activated sludge) at the bottom of the settling pool are transferred back to the aeration unit by the air lifting system. Excess sludge is taken to the sludge stabilization unit. In this unit, air is given to the sludge and it is stabilized by preventing it from becoming septic. Excess sludge is removed from the sludge stabilization unit by vacuum truck several times a year.
