IBIS - Model TRAX HD3D -Integrated Ballistic Investigation System

IBIS acquires digital images of microscopic marks on bullets and shotguns. An electronic signature is extracted from each image and stored in a database. These signatures are compared to find the corresponding candidates through the IBIS network. Most likely matches are classified and made available for viewing by the forensic expert who must then confirm. IBIS also helps identify patterns and trends that may be of help to the police, detectives, etc.
