The PID Detector can effectively measure volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other toxic gases. When organic gas is fed into the PID detector, an ultraviolet (UV) light source is used to open the chemical bonds of the organic gas, releasing free ions and electrons. The detector measures the charge of the ionized gas and converts it into a current signal, which is amplified to display the content of the organic gas via the data acquisition module.
