Modernizing Tank-Waste Treatment with Green Technology
Tech Zero technology offers a streamlined, scalable approach that allows refineries to recycle 100% of tank sludge and process waste.

Our technology allows refineries to recycle 100% of their hazardous tank & process waste within fixed timelines and budgets.  The technology is compact, requiring a small team to manage the process.

Our process meets the most stringent environmental regulations. There’s no need for cumbersome, heavy treatment equipment that requires fuel to treat the waste. Tech Zero uses the tank waste to fuel the process. Further, there’s no need to truck or ship the waste offsite to be treated elsewhere.

Tank sludge & process waste is treated via a secondary manufacturing process, resulting in highly refined oil and salable commodities that generate a secondary revenue stream.

Tech Zero’s streamlined technology allows refineries to increase turnaround times and increase production. Our one step treatment process results in two end products in three days. Highly refined oil gets piped back into production and the recycled material is no longer hazardous and ready to be sold direct to manufacturers.

Per and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of highly-soluble, man-made chemicals that include PFOA, PFOA, PFNA, PFOS, GenX, and many other chemicals that have been manufactured and used in a wide variety of industries around the globe since the 1940s. Some common uses were Teflon for pans and ScotchGuard for clothing. PFAS are so prevalent they can be found in everything from cleaning products to clothing to food packaging, even dental floss and shampoo.

Iron Creek Group has been actively engaged with US Air Force & US Navy teams, successfully conducting PFAS pilot projects since 2018.Our patented, Zero Oxygen Conduction technology called Tech Zero is a mobile, self-contained unit that utilizes infrared heat to eliminate 99% of PFAS chemicals from impacted soils, with minimal amount of emissions.

Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of man-made chemicals that includes PFOA, PFOS, GenX, and many other chemicals. There’s a current EPA initiative to help clean up PFAS contamination in the United States.

Iron Creek offers a sustainable, affordable and safe solution to eliminate PFAS contamination on-site.

Our exclusive conduction, convection, oxidation and vaporization methods provide a whole-site solution for full-scale remediation of PFAS-impacted soil. Tech Zero treatment reduces the liability associated with offsite trucking, handling and incineration, and provides an opportunity to reuse the treated soil.

High concentrations of PFOA and PFOS, long-chain PFAS chemicals, are found in aqueous-film-forming foam (AFFF). AFFF is used by military and civil transportation groups to suppress fuel fires which has led to soil and water contamination near airports, military bases, fire training facilities and more.

Iron Creek`s Tech Zero unit utilizes infrared heat to treat contaminated soil through conduction and convection, with associated volume increase in heated gases driving out the volatilized PFAS. The design incorporates a "core" heating system that can utilize propane, natural gas, or diesel. This system produces a very low amount of exhaust gas, which is routed through air extraction ducts to an off-gas treatment system. It functions as a thermal oxidizer, destroying organic vapors at temperatures in excess of 1,300°C, or sorption to vapor-phase granular activated carbon, which is then returned to the vendor for high temperature reactivation, thereby destroying the PFAS.

  • Small footprint bin/batch process – in zero oxygen environment.
  • Allows for the recovery of hydrocarbons and drilling fluids.
  • Allows treatment of very wet material with no screening/reject.
  • Maximizes thermal efficiency (approaching 100%).
  • High throughput with minimal project staffing.
  • Flexible: Heating time, temperature, configuration.

Our clients depend on our team to deliver complete remediation of all organic contaminants, safely, on time, and on budget.
