The BLK UV System by IST METZ is designed for high-demand industrial applications, offering enhanced drying performance without the associated increase in energy consumption. The BLK is particularly suitable for demanding industrial applications and is characterised by a significantly higher drying performance compared to conventional UV systems, without increasing energy consumption. With a lamp output of up to 240 W/cm, a total output of up to 36 kW and a lamp length of up to 2.4 m, it is one of the most powerful UV systems on the market. Thanks to its compact design, it can be easily integrated into machines and requires only small amounts of exhaust air, which further reduces operating costs.

The BLK can also be used flexibly in an interchangeable concept or as a hybrid solution with the modulux or modulux Turbo as an LED UV interchangeable system.

Design and functionality (BLK)
The BLK impresses not only with its performance but also with its compact design and flexible integration into any machine. With lamp lengths of up to 2,300 mm and individual adaptation to the specific requirements of your application areas, the BLK offers an optimal solution for packaging printing, newspaper printing, metal printing, banknote printing, converting, and industrial applications.
 
HotSwap technology
As standard, the UV systems are fitted with the same ELC type electronic power supply devices. They can be used to continously regulate the dimming range of the UV lamp. Both LAMPcure and LEDcure units can be operated interchangeably with the same ELC.
 
FLC fast lamp change
The cordless FLC UV lamp system enables the UV lamp to be changed quickly and easily. It can be removed from the lamp unit with just one movement.
 
IPS control generation
The intelligent IPS Control System allows for a variety of additional functions, such as IST Remote Service.
 
UV online sensor
The IST UV Online Sensor has made it possible to measure the UV radiation effiency of a UV system online and check it when required in the operating display.
 
URS reflector technology
The integrated URS technology provides optimum adaptation of the reflector geometry and the reflection properties to the production process.
 
Quick exchange of reflectors thanks to URS inlay technology
The innovative URS inlay technology enables lightning-fast exchange of reflectors, minimizing maintenance times and increasing productivity. Additionally, the inlays are available with various spectral reflection properties to meet individual requirements.
 
Flexible shutter positioning FSP - optional
The FSP system for end-of-press, features an exceptionally large reflector opening angle. When printing on temperature-sensitive materials, the shutters can be used to limit this opening angle, in order to minimise the influence of the temperature on the substrate.
 
Optimal Heat Management (water cooled)
Efficient water cooling of the reflectors and housing ensures optimal heat dissipation. Additionally, a watercooled counter shield or cooling cylinder further reduces the temperature load on the substrate.
 
Inert gas operation
An inert gas version is also available for special requirements. More than 20 years of experience in several sector gurantee the perfect integration and very low gas consumption.
 
Warranty
IST METZ provides a warranty for 10,000 operating hours on URS type reflectors and 2,500 operating hours on UV lamps.

Energy-minimized UV printing

The BLK LAMPcure has been classified as particularly energy-efficient by the professional association for printing and paper processing and bears the "energy-minimized UV printing" label. In addition, the BLK LAMPcure is the first system in its class worldwide to be awarded the "DGUV Test" seal (formerly GS test mark). The seal is a legally regulated test mark for product safety that is valid throughout Europe.
