50 YEARS OF ITALIMPIANTI ORAFI

From its foundation to the present day. Here are the most remarkable milestones in the history of Italimpianti Orafi that have lead the company where it is today and laid the foundations for an increasingly bright and promising future.

Italimpianti participates in the first trade fair (the fiera Campionaria di Milano), where the first important order from abroad is finalized. The order comes from Brazil (installation in 1974). In the same year Italimpianti participates in the VicenzaOro fair, which is already "international" for the goldsmith sector.

Italimpianti manufactures the first medium-frequency induction melting furnace: it is a revolutionary machine for its time, as everyone is still working at high frequency with strong impact on the operators` health.

Italimpianti is one of the first Italian companies in the goldsmith sector to participate in important international fairs (in New York and then in New Delhi). In the same year the first turnkey plant is delivered in Canada.

The first industrial machines for lost wax casting were delivered and the "vacuum technology" was introduced in induction furnaces. This new technology significantly improved the quality of the finished product. That resulted in a boom in sales all around the world.

Italimpianti Orafi starts to manufacture industrial machines for the refining of precious metals to meet the growing market demand for professional machines.

The company obtains patent no. 01266963 of the first tunnel furnace for the production of gold and silver ingots. In the same year Italimpianti delivers the first turnkey plant in Russia and the first tunnel furnace for the production of ingots in Dubai.

The first turnkey plant is supplied to a chinese company. The following year another one is installed in Saudi Arabia.

Italimpianti starts a collaboration with Eng. Roberto Guidali (at that time he was the technical director of Argor Heraeus) during the development of the first complete refining line sold in Turkey. The following year, Mr. Guidali becomes manager of Italimpianti Orafi, taking over the majority of its shares.

The company installs the first large gold electrolytic refining plant in South Africa. In 2012 it is implemented with a melting plant.

Italimpianti first delivers the largest gold refining plant in Asia, a big plant in India with the MMTC-PAMP project, and then the first turnkey plant in Japan.

Italimpianti starts its winning collaboration with Tera Automation srl, a young and dynamic company situated in the Casentino valley (in Tuscany). Together they file the patent for a new tunnel furnace, which is more efficient and better automated than the previous ones. At the same time, the co-founding of Ecomet Refining srl marks a green turning-point for Italimpianti Orafi. Ecomet Refining is specialized in the recovery of "precious and non-precious metals", starting from industrial waste and automotive batteries. Still today (2020) it is the only active Italian plant of this type

Italimpianti orafi - with an increasingly green vision - develops a line for the recovery of precious and non precious metals from E-Waste, thus expanding the product range and its outlet market. It has a great worldwide success.

The company sells the first fully automated line in the world for the controlled and certified mass production of gold and silver bars in Australia (Sydney). It is equipped with tunnel furnaces, three types of robots and Industry 4.0 technology.

Italimpianti deposits the patent N. 102019000009825 for an innovative rotary induction furnace.

In the same year Italimpianti starts its partnership with CLM Consulting. CLM is a consulting company based in Arezzo which is specialized in Process Engineering and can help customers in the LBMA accreditation to be included in the Good Delivery List.

Italimpianti opens a new department for the processing of Titanium and light alloy machines. Italimpianti is the only supplier in the world able to realize internally precious refining plants with these materials, which are usually used in the aerospace sector.

Despite the covid-19 virus, 2020 is the year of the sales record: we are working hard to satisfy all our customers!

In 2022 Italimpianti Orafi will celebrate our 50th anniversary!
