A nanometer is a billionth of a meter or a millionth of a millimetre. For reference, a sheet of paper is about 100,000 nanometers thick. Nanoscale matter can behave differently than the same bulk material. For example, a material’s melting point, colour, strength, chemical reactivity, and more may change at the nanoscale.

When familiar materials are reduced to Nano proportion’s they begin to develop odd properties. For example, plastics can conduct electricity, gold particles can appear red or green and solids can turn into liquids almost spontaneously at room temperature.

At the Nanoscale, substances may behave differently or better compared to the same substances at macro sizes. Substances can become super-elastic, physically stronger or weaker, able to cope with vast changes in temperature and pressure and become more chemically reactive.

JBS manufacture nanomaterial on a commercial scale. We design client-specific products, manufacture, test samples then produce the nanomaterials and ship them all over the world. JBS nanomaterials are manufactured in the USA and our research, development and production facilities based in Ft. Lauderdale Florida are state of the art. Our synthesis process intrinsically yields the same nanoparticles every time we manufacture them.

Research and Development (R&D) is central to our 5th D engineering and is the basis for the development of our advanced formulations. We work with our clients, on an open book basis, and can rapidly test the client concept material to demonstrate its commercial suitability.

1. JBS Filterguard – Transmission Prevention Within Air Filters & Ventilation Systems from Airborne Viruses (Covid-19)

JBS have developed a nanotech coating designed to allow air filters to capture and kill airborne droplets of the virus which cause Covid-19. The JBS Filterguard coating works by capturing and killing liquids that encase the virus particles while still allowing air to flow through the filter with zero reduction in airflow. This allows the ventilation system to capture and kill Covid-19 and other airborne viruses during normal operation, without retrofitting or limiting the systems ability to draw fresh air.

JBS Filterguard is a simple spray application, it is a water-based nanotechnology filter coating designed to capture and kill airborne viruses, trapping them on the filter coating without restricting airflow. The product is entirely green.

Studies have shown how far the Covid-19 and other airborne viruses can travel through hospital ventilation systems. Cruise ships and offices also have the same issue. JBS Filterguard provides a cost-effective, proven solution, preventing the transmission of such airborne viruses through ventilation systems.

JBS Filterguard is manufactured in the USA. It has proved 99.9% effective in killing the coronavirus and other airborne viruses. JBS utilise independent laboratories to validate our products. Testing offers a full range of material assessments using chemical characterization, in vivo and in vitro test services to meet US FDA, EU CE mark Japan MHLW and other international requirements. JBS also work with clients providing samples such that clients can carry out their own test validation.

2. Safe Rooms, Ballistic Walls, Windows & Security Glass

Our safe rooms, ballistic walls & windows use the best available technology to provide best in class results for personnel and asset security.

JBS safe rooms have passed ballistic tests that allow it to protect individuals in even the most hostile situations. Due to its unique modular and lightweight design, our safe room can be installed quickly with little disruption into most buildings. It has the added benefit of being cost effective due to the fact that it can be easily relocated when a threat subsides

Safe rooms typically provide food and water supplies, effective communication channels to be able to communicate with the outside world,  a proper system of ventilation, electric power, CCTV, first aid kit and noise reduction properties.

Products are manufactured in the USA, UL certified with product testing numbers and certification.

3. Ballistic Protection – Hard and Soft Armor Solutions:

JBS armour products incorporate nanomaterial which provides multi-hit protection as well as enhanced ballistic and blast resistance.

The result is a radical improvement in protection, weight, space, flexibility, and economics compared with traditional materials like HMPE, ceramics, fibreglass, aramid, and titanium.

JBS nanocomposite laminates exceed any product available on the market today and withstand multiple shots. They are four to five times stronger than steel and about six times stronger than Kevlar making them extremely popular material for ballistic protection.

Soft Armor Test Sample: .308 (7.62 NATO) rounds after test at NIJ test centre. Hit 32 times in an area of one sq.ft. Panel remains flexible with no penetration.

JBS products are issued with a V50 test sheet. The most common standards for testing the fragmentation resistance of a ballistic product are: US Standard – Mill STD 662 E, UK Standard – UK / SC / 5449, NATO Standard – STANAG 2920. Products are NIJ Standard 0101.06 compliant.
