Looking at how the system operates - if wastewater is channeled out of the property when the backwater valve is closed, the pump automatically switches on - the pump intakes wastewater, mills the solids and reliably discharges the wastewater out into the sewage pipe. This process can occur whilst simultaneously preventing any backwater from entering the property.
