Kitchen Downpipes
Aarsleff CIPP Lining is a method well suited for renewal of vertical kitchen downpipes with laterals and water traps, as this cost saving method does not only reduce the time that it takes to carry out a renewal project, it also minimises the need for removal and demolition. In many old buildings, especially in residential buildings, the kitchen downpipes are often in very bad condition which can cause odour nuisance. When we are to renew kitchen downpipes, we always begin the work with cleaning the kitchen downpipes so that they get back their initial cross sectional area. The cleaning takes place with CCTV monitoring, and in this way we record and document the condition of the kitchen downpipes. During the cleaning, we remove rust scales that cover corrosion holes.

A few days after the pipes have been cleaned, we start renewing the kitchen downpipes by means of Aarsleff CIPP Lining which consists of several layers of acid-proof polyester felt impregnated with resin. We install the liner from the top or the bottom of a kitchen downpipe by means of air pressure. Installation with air pressure does not require much space, and therefore the method is well suited for renewal inside a building. When we have made sure that the liner is in position, we cure it with steam. We finish the renewal work with a CCTV inspection of the final result, connect the kitchen downpipe to the other installations, and we then we prepare the documentation for the renewal performed.
We are able to renew almost all kinds of kitchen downpipes with Aarsleff CIPP Lining, and we can reline and thereby seal laterals of a diameter down to DN50 mm – e.g. for kitchen sinks. We manufacture the liners ourselves so that they fit exactly to each individual kitchen downpipe.
