KOMPOGAS - Biomethanisation Technology
From Mechanical-Biological Waste Treatment
Biomethanisation Is a natural process in which bacteria break down organic matter in the absence of oxygen (also called anaerobic digestion). Biodegradable material is converted to a less, germfree compost and a biogas consisting mainly of methane. This high tech industrial process has been developed over several years in Europe, making it the most innovative ecological waste recovery solution.
Product Details
VINCI Environnement markets the Swiss process KOMPOGAS® anaerobic digestion technology under exclusive licence.
KOMPOGAS technology has an established reputation for sturdiness and performance, with a list of high profile references. Distinctive features include: horizontal digester design combined with a slow-stirring axis for a high level of operating flexibility and sturdiness, two critical qualities for any anaerobic digestion and proven in operation at many sites. Additional key properties include:
- thermophile (i.e. high temperature) digestion, for a perfectly germfree end-product
- modular construction adaptable to all capacities
- a horizontal digester, integrates perfectly into a wide range of architectures
- a dry phase, high concentration process, limiting the volumes needing to be treated
- designed to avoid any sedimentation or floating film, two factors hostile to anaerobic. This process is adapted to the treatment of the fermentable fraction of municipal waste, organic waste, commercial waste (markets, restaurants, etc.), with additional inputs of structuring matter such as green waste, if necessary.
