To save raw material resources
Thanks to the excellent dispersion and homogeneity of Exfill® products, the addition in a certain application can go as high as 70% of the final plastic packaging, which significantly helps in reducing the content of petroleum-derived polymers while maintaining and enhancing the mechanical properties of the packaging.
To use a renewable and globally available resource
As defined by ISO 14021, the replenishment rate of calcium carbonate exceeds its consumption rate. Therefore, calcium carbonate meets the criteria for a renewable material. Approximately 4% of the Earth’s crust consists of calcium carbonate, making calcium carbonate one of the most common raw materials available in nature. All calcium carbonate grades of Exfill® products use natural sources such as limestone and marble.
To reduce the Carbon footprint of the packaging
In comparison to petroleum-derived polymers and other additives used in plastic production, using calcium carbonate can significantly reduce the carbon footprint of the final packaging.
