Langtons - Stair Safety Post for Construction Edge Protection
The Stair Safety Post, priced at £29.00 excluding VAT, complies with the BS EN 13374 standard for temporary edge protection systems, providing a reliable support mechanism for staircases and landings during construction. It is designed for easy installation and is compatible with various surfaces, including wood, concrete, and steel. Constructed from a 40 x 40 SHS Power Coated High Visibility Yellow material, this post stands 1000mm high and features a base plate with four pre-drilled holes for secure fixing. For optimal safety, it is recommended that six Stair Safety Posts are used on a standard staircase, with spacing not exceeding 2m. Each base fixing should have a minimum pull-out resistance of 1.40 KN. The posts can be integrated with a 44 x 144 C16 Timber, with joints half lapped at post positions to ensure stability.
The Stair Safety Post provides secure support for temporary edge protection to staircases and landings during construction. The base plate contains four 7mm holes for fixing down to wood, concrete or steel staircases.
We would recommend the use of 6No. Stair Safety Posts on a standard staircase (3 on the landing and 3 on the stairs)
Base fixings to have a minimum pull out resistance of 1.40 KN (each). Stair Safety Post centres to be a maximum of 2m utilising a 44 x 144 C16 Timber, any joints should be half lapped at the post positions.
