LG - Alloy Steel Pipe
Alloy steel piping components are designed with a range of alloying elements. The alloys in these pipes range from 1% up to 50%. The content of alloys help in determining the characteristics and properties of the components. The outstanding contents embedded in the Alloy Steel Pipe give these pipes superior corrosion and oxidation resistance across stress-induced systems. These pipes work well in a range of temperatures and pressure systems. They can be easily welded or threaded in place following standard procedures.
Alloy steel seamless pipe vs alloy steel erw pipe
- An erw pipe of alloy steel is produced by rolling pieces of sheets and strips and then welding it longitudinally. Alloy Steel Seamless Pipe is produced through an extrusion process as hot billets are passed through metal allowing them to be shaped in precise dimensions.
- Alloy Steel ERW Pipe has thinner walls and is lighter in weight. A seamless pipe grade has thicker and stronger walls. This strong walls give it 20% extra strength and load-bearing capacity than ERW grade pipes.
- Seamless Pipe is generally designed in sizes up to 24 inches. Alloy Steel Welded Pipe can be produced in a range of sizes and dimensions to suit different project requirements.
- Processing of a Seamless Alloy Steel Pipe requires special equipment making it expensive to process and produce. An erw pipe can be processed with less complexity and is cheaper to manufacture.
Difference between low alloy steel Pipe and high alloy steel Pipe
Pipes are generally designed in a range of alloys that allow them to function across different environments. Generally, low and high alloy steel pipe grades can be distinguished from certain key features.
- Low alloy steel pipes are designed with 8% alloying elements. High alloy steel pipes generally have around 20 or more alloying items.
- High alloy steel pipes showcase superior strength and corrosion resistance properties when compared to low alloy pipe grades.
- Low alloy grade pipes can be machined and welded to subsequent modules more easily than high alloy pipes.
- The low Alloy Steel Tube has better durability as compared to high alloy tubes.
