  • Monitor Shopping and Street Activity
    • The MAC address of the wireless interface, which identifies unique devices.
    • The strength of the wireless signal (RSSI), which gives an indication of the distance from the scanner. Changes in this value determine the speed.
    • The vendor of the smartphone (Apple, Samsung, etc)
    • The AP where the user is connected (if any) and the Bluetooth friendly name. Users not connected to a particular AP are displayed as ‘free’ users.
    • For Bluetooth, the Class of Device (CoD) which identifies the type of Bluetooth device (smartphone, handsfree, computer, LAN/network AP). This allows differentiating between people and vehicles.

  • Vehicle Traffic Monitoring
    • Monitor in real time the number of vehicles passing for a certain point in highways and roads.
    • Detect the average time of vehicle stance or dwell time for traffic congestion prevention.
    • Monitor the average speed of vehicles on highways and roads.
    • Provide travel times on alternate routes when congestion is detected.
    • Provide an indication of passenger concurrency in travelling vehicles against other data sources.
