Morcom WindCube - Model LIDAR -Lidar Systems for Wind Speed and Direction Measurement
The term Lidar, stands for Light Detection and Ranging, it is a remote sensing method that uses light in the form of a pulsed laser to measure ranges (variable distances) that correlates to the values of wind speed and direction in a vertical volume of the atmosphere that can be up to 10 Km tall from where the sensor is. Morcom offers new turnkey and user-friendly remote-sensing Lidars that allow wind measurement, aerosol (ice, ash, dust, smoke) characterization and localization, cloud height, and atmospheric structure (boundary layer and aerosol layers).
The Vaisala WindCube® family is the most trusted and widely used Lidar in wind energy, aviation weather, and meteorology. With hundreds of units manufactured and installed worldwide, WindCube is the most trusted sensor in the industry.
