LMF - High Pressure Compressor Systems
LMF supplies high-pressure compressor systems with nearly 40 years of experience, used as energy sources for the operation of the airguns. These systems are developed and built according to the special requirements of seismic offshore applications.
Simultaneously withmaximum efficiency and top availabilitythe compressor systems used also guaranteeminimal maintenance efforts as well as most compact dimensions and lowest possible weights.
LMF offers a comprehensive range of seismic compressors on capacities (FAD) ranging from 2 to 78 m³/min (70 to 2,755 cfm).
- 2 to 6 m³/min (70 to 210 cfm) capacity:
air-cooled piston compressors designed for permanent operation - 8 to 25 m³/min (280 to 880 cfm) capacity:
compact series: LMF proven compound compressor system in most compact light weight design - 31 to 78 m³/min (1,095 to 2,755 cfm) capacity:
compound systems as optimal solutions for highest capacities with smallest possible space requirements and weights.
A rotary screw compressor is used to feed the piston compressor with pre-compressed air. Both compressors are directly driven by a centrally located electric motor or diesel engine.
For optimal integration of the compressor aggregates on seismic vessels, LMF offers specifically developed additional components:
Capacity regulation
In order to save energy and avoid the release of compressed air, the compressors may be equipped with continuously variable capacity controls. The revolutions of electrically driven compressors are controlled via frequency converters. Diesel systems may also be controlled with a combined regulation of revolutions and inlet air quantity within a range of 50 to 100 % of the capacity.
Pressure regulation
Depending on the actual pressure in the high-pressure reservoir, the operation mode is controlled by up to 3 compressor aggregates.
Manifold
A manifold with all required locking and monitoring facilities is used to feed all airguns installed. In order to avoid pressure surges that might compromise operation safety, the locking fittings are operated electrically.
Additional equipment
All additional components such as relief valves, filters, pressure reservoirs etc. can also be supplied and integrated into the pressure control of the units by LMF as part of an overall concept.
Quantity standard
The entire range of LMF`s seismic compressor portfolio is DNV type approved and can be delivered with DNV marine product certificate on demand.
