There are different grades of materials that are used to produce these valves. Depending on the need of the applications and the mechanical properties, the steel grade differs. The Stainless Steel 316 butterfly valve is made up of the 316 grade material with molybdenum, chromium and nickel in the composition. These valves can be used in corrosive and marine environmental applications. The Stainless Steel 304 body butterfly valves are less resistant to corrosion but have good strength.
