Main Pipes
Aarsleff CIPP Lining is an effective solution for No-Dig renewal of horizontal as well as vertical pipes in buildings and in the ground, main pipes included. Aarsleff CIPP Lining is a result of many years of targeted development. The development is ongoing. An Aarsleff CIPP Lining is the only solution of its kind on the market with an expected life of up to 100 years. Aarsleff CIPP Lining consists of acid-proof polyester fibre impregnated with resin. We manufacture the liner in all lengths and wall thicknesses from 3 mm to 50 mm. We offer to customise the liner so that main pipes with different dimensions can be renewed in one operation. In this way, we are able to renew several hundred metres at a time.
We always start the renewal of a main pipe by a thorough CCTV inspection which documents the precise condition of a pipe, the position of laterals and the need for cleaning. When the worn main pipe is ready, we invert a soft liner into the pipe, e.g. from a manhole. When the liner is in inserted into the worn pipe, we cure it with water or steam.
The choice of curing method is determined by the dimensions of the main pipe in question. After curing, we open the launch manhole, the exit manhole and any intermediate manholes. In addition, we reopen the laterals by use of a cutter. We carry out a final CCTV inspection of the end result and prepare the documentation for the renewal. We often renew main pipes from manhole to manhole but the launch point and the exit point can also be an excavation or similar.
