DURBALMaintenance-Free Rod Ends

SHARE

Rod ends, compliant with DIN ISO 12240-4, are vital machine elements utilized for transferring static and dynamic forces during swiveling, tilting, and rotating actions. DURBAL offers two types of maintenance-free rod ends: the Classic Line and Basic Line. Both lines are available on Rollon's myRollon platform, a digital workspace aimed at streamlining the selection and configuration of linear and rotary motion solutions. These rod ends are designed to cater to various industrial applications, ensuring minimal upkeep while delivering optimal performance. Their robust construction ensures longevity and reliable operation in high-demand environments, making them suitable for sectors like aerospace, automotive, and robotics. They operate efficiently under a wide range of mechanical conditions, offering a sustainable solution to modern engineering requirements.

A rod end (DIN ISO 12240-4) is generally a standardised, ready-to-install machine element used for the transfer of static and dynamic forces in connection with swivelling, tilting and turning movements.

DURBAL offers two lines of maintenance free rod ends (Classic or Basic Line).

  • DURBAL Classic Line heavy-duty rod ends in accordance with DIN ISO 12240-4 consist of a housing, an injected bearing race and an inner ring. The heavy-duty rod ends of the DURBAL Classic Line have an integrated spherical plain bearing. These rod ends are maintenance-free.
The rod ends are available in the series K, E/EH and in inches. These DURBAL Classic Line rod ends in accordance with DIN ISO 8139 can also be combined with pneumatic cylinders.
The maintenance-free DURBAL rod ends of these series are primarily used in situations where swivelling movements are small and speeds are low. These rod ends can handle very high loads and are also suited for use with impact loads. The hard-chrome plated or stainless steel joint ball glides on a special glass fibre reinforced plastic sliding bearing race – DURBAL-Glide –, which among other things is made of PTFE to minimize friction. The design ensures that they are absolutely maintenance free and also practically free of clearance. The compound used has the favourable secondary advantage to absorb any foreign particles and to enclose them that no damage may occur.
Mainly all sizes in this series consist of a forged part and tempered rod end housing. This makes these DURBAL rod ends extremely hardwearing. We also offer the maintenance-free rod ends in stainless steel and aluminium.

From now on, Classic Line products are available on myRollon, Rollon's digital work platform designed to simplify the selection and configuration of linear and rotary motion solutions.
