McLaughlin - Model MCL 24C -Case Auger Boring Machine
The McL-24C is a case auger boring machine for your (4”-24”) projects. This proven machine has stood the test of time and installed casing for years around the Globe. You can count on the 24C to deliver 98,000 lbs of thrust—day in and day out.
TRACK DESIGN
Redesigned track incorporates rectangular steel tubing, thicker vertical rails than previous models and new placement of cross members to strengthen the rails when connected to other track sections. New center support provides a smooth surface when pulling augers.
EASE OF OPERATION
With a hydraulic brake, dog pin position indicators, fast-feed and auto-bore, setting proper boring rotation and advance speed iseffortless to control and maintain.
OPERATOR CONTROLS
Centralized control panel with integral vandal shield. All machine functions combined in one area. Console includes gauges, ignition switch and engine indicators.
Proven Dependability. High-torque air-cooled Deutz diesel engine keeps the 24B on the job with proven dependability.
Protection from Debris. Tubular steel cage design protects components from damage and the hydraulic dog plate cylinder is shielded from debris.
POWERTRAIN
Powerful 24.7 hp caterpillar water cooled engine with integral hydraulic pump drives. Hydraulic clutch, 4 speed transmission and a differential planetary gearbox proved torque to the cutting head.
The ON TARGET system allows contractors to also control the direction of the bore in a lateral movement, providing more accuracy for difficult on-grade bores ranging from 16 to 60 inches in diameter.
The MCL 225 auger boring system from McLaughlin was designed for long large diameter casing installations for power, communications, water/sewer and pipeline projects. Powered by a 214 HP Volvo tier 4 compliant diesel engine it is equipped with 5” hex Auger driving 1,200,000 ft lbs of thrust & 126,000 ft.lbs of torque for big bore applications.
