The Starfire S-4XL is a robust dual-engine mechanical broom street sweeper known for its heavy-duty capabilities and a 4.5 cubic yard hopper. It’s mounted on a mid-sized conventional chassis with a GVWR of 26,000 lbs, and does not require a CDL to operate. Designed for rigorous daily use, the S-4XL is well-suited for tasks like chip seal, millings, spring clean-up, and highway sweeping. It features an off-set hydraulic elevator drive motor, case drains for all hydraulic motors to mitigate seal pressure leaks, and a vertically adjustable control panel that supports one-touch sweeping. The unit includes a sealed NEMA 4 enclosure for protected electrical components, and massive “X” style lift scissors for exceptional hopper stability. Additional features include a high dump hopper, a 330-gallon water system with multiple spray nozzles, an auto-pivoting elevator, and a 59 HP turbo-charged diesel engine. The sweeper also benefits from electric-over-hydraulic systems, a 3-shaft elevator for extended chain life and reduced maintenance, and a color camera system that improves operational safety. Lockable canopies safeguard components from environmental exposure and vandalism.
