Kugler - Mechanical Thickeners
The mechanical thickeners Kugler E-OP series are a cost-effective and reliable alternative for: Static thickening as well as for band thickening, screw press thickening and thickening centrifuges (biological sludges), Separators (digestate drainage), Fine screens or sieves on municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, Primary clarifier, and Flotation plants. Our thickeners are based on an innovative technology for the separation of fine materials. Fibrous material is cut off and the braiding is prevented. Compared to a thick centrifuge, our thickeners are extremely energy efficient, low noise and vibration as well as very robust against wear. Advantages over the static thickening are: our mechanical thickeners Kugler E-OP require smaller space and avoid additional accumulation of NH4-N. Depending on the application, flocculation aids can be further dosed.
The series Kugler E-op thickeners can be used for:
- Thickening e.g. before the digestion tower (e.g. from 1% TS to 6% TS-content with throughputs up to 172 m³/h or 370 kg ts/h and 1.5 kw),
- Fine screens on smaller wastewater treatment plants (advantage: hair & fibrous materials are retained!),
- Deposition of solids in waste water from industry and food production (> 1mm) and
- Digestate drainage (e.g. from 6% TS to 30% TS-content with rates up to 30 m³/h and 1.5 kw).z
The core of the plant is a series of parallel, slowly rotating waves, with a variety of oval plates attached. There is a static grid between the plates. The rotating plates carry the solids on the grid further, while the liquid phase flows between the plates. The oval shape of the plates causes a wavy movement, which makes the mud well drained. The rotation cleans the plates themselves, so backwashing is not necessary. It can work without being blocked, even when draining fermentation residues.
