Although filtration is the easiest concept in water and wastewater treatment, it requires some scientific and empirical know-how in order to have a filtration system that operates smoothly and without blocking. When there are small amounts of solid impurities to be removed from a solution (the filtrate contains the desired material). Gravity filtration may be performed with hot solvent (in contrast with vacuum filtration).

Gravity or pressure filtration, media or disc filters. These are the first decisions we take when designing a new filtration system.  
However there are other issues that need to be decided like:
  • the size and material of vessels and hydraulic connections  
  • the type and operation of control valves
  • the backwash and rinse rates    
The above decisions are taken after a meticulous consideration of:
  • The solids concentration of the incoming stream – which may be stable or fluctuating
  • The flow characteristics of the incoming stream: average flow, peak flow duration of fluctuations
  • The desired solids concentration in the outgoing stream
  • The available space for installation

  • Boosting pumping unit – only for the case of pressure filtration
  • Filter vessel(s) made of GRP, PE, epoxy coated carbon steel or stainless steel of various grades
  • Filtration media (silica sand of various sizes, anthracite, activate carbon) or discs
  • Controller of operation (normal flow, rinse, backwash)
  • Control valves pneumatically or electrically control valves
  • Pressure gauges

All components, pieces of equipment and materials such as pumping units, controllers and filter media and sourced by reputable international manufacturers with whom we have long term partnerships.

Filter vessels and hydraulic connections are in-house designed, manufactured and assembled to the highest specification standards and with materials and processes that fit for each particular purpose.

Complete skid-mounted turnkey units that can be easily removed and reinstalled are also available upon request.
