The T&D biological membrane systems can be used in a wide range of applications, ensuring the possibility of re-use of the purified water while maintaining compact dimensions of the structures. Purification output of the MBR process is very high and the other big advantage is the low production of excess sludge.
The MBR membrane bioreactors come from the combination of a conventional activated sludge process with filtration on a semi-permeable membrane.
The use of this system can guarantee, in addition to increased output with respect to conventional systems and in particular the virtually total removal of suspended solids and bacteria charge, a notable process stability without the need for continuous checks on bioflocculation and sludge sedimentation capacity.
The optimal filtration efficiency of the membranes enables operation with concentrations of sludge of up to four times greater than normal values (up to 12-15 kg/m3), thus significantly increasing the purification capacity of the system.
