APC - Model MercPure Series -Mercury Emissions Control Systems
Applications for MercPure Series mercury control systems include sewage sludge incinerators (SSI’s) at wastewater treatment plants, gold processing plants, hospital waste incinerators, municipal waste incinerators, waste-to-energy plants, fossil fuel fired boilers, LNG production plants, antimony processing plants, retort furnaces, fluorescent bulb manufacturing, chlor-alkali plants, taconite plants, chemical plants, and specialty refineries.
For mercury removal from gas streams, APC offers two types of mercury control systems:
- MercPure Fixed Bed (FB) Series Systems
- MercPure Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC) Series Systems
MercPure FB Series Systems
MercPure Fixed Bed (FB Series) systems provide very high removal efficiency (up to 99%) for mercury using fixed adsorption beds of specialty, granular activated carbon media that are custom-selected for the application. APC`s activated carbon media for these fixed bed systems are available to address both low- and high-temperature applications. Typically APC`s one-of-a-kind ultra high-efficiency filter (UHF®) unit precedes the adsorption vessel(s) to remove ultra-fine liquid aerosol and particulate down to and below 0.005 micron in size, greatly extending carbon media life, and allowing continuous mercury control at high efficiency.
MercPure PAC Series Systems
MercPure powdered activated carbon (PAC) injection systems include carbon metering and injection systems, interconnecting piping and ductwork supply, and downstream fabric filter (if not already in place) to deliver mid to high removal efficiencies (up to 90% typ.). These systems also work in both low- and high-temperature conditions and are ideal for larger gas volumetric flow rates where fixed adsorption beds become infeasible.
