Metro - Silicone Rubber Sheet
Silicone is high temperature-resistant, chemically stable rubber. Silicone rubber sheets are flexible and elastic with excellent chemical stability, a wide operating temperature range, high electric insulation, lower thermal conductivity, and good oil resistance. All these attributes render it a high-performance elastomer with diverse applications in the fields of aerospace, automotive, construction, adhesives, paints, cookware, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and leisure products. Metro Rubber Corporation, manufactures Silicone Rubber Sheets in many different colors, including transparent and translucent versions both in industrial and food grades.
- Extreme high and low-temperature resistance, can withstand -60 °C to +230 °C while maintaining physical and mechanical properties,
- Silicone rubber sheets are oven, microwave and freezer-safe,
- Chemical stability,
- Moisture, ozone, UV light, and oil resistance are far superior to those of other rubbers specially at high temperatures,
- Durable under general environmental distorting effects, no chipping or flex cracking.
- Good dielectric strength, however, can be formulated to be semiconducting,
- High gas permeability relative to other elastomers,
- Low compression set values, which mean less permanent deformation under thermal and mechanical stress,
- Smooth, water-repellent surface,
- Good at shielding electromagnetic and gamma radiation.
- High Transparency,
- Non-toxic, Odourless and tasteless.
We offer silicone rubber sheets in both commercial and food grades. Food-grade sheets are manufactured in a sterile, hygienic environment using FDA-approved, non-toxic ingredients. These are deployed by industries preparing articles and products meant for human consumption. Silicone is biocompatible, it does not react with living tissues, therefore widely deployed in medial applications.
- In the automobile, aircraft, and electronic industries as O-rings, seals, gaskets, and thermal insulation pads.
- Sheets of silicone rubber (generally 2 mm thick) are used in door and profile laminating and vacuum presses.
- Thin sheets are used in respiration flaps for virus and bacteria protection in face masks.
- High gas permeability, makes silicone sheets useful for applications where increased aeration is desired.
- Baking mats made from high-grade silicone sheets are popular among households since they are microwave-safe and heat-temperature-befitted.
- Special apparel and footwear, especially sportswear, are prepared from fabric-reinforced silicone sheets due to their water repellent, ease of shaping, and resistance to creasing and wrinkling, and high performance.
- silicone sheets are used as mattress protectors in homes and hospitals because of gentleness, impermeability to fluids, toughness, and aesthetic look.
