The carcass of the belt is an important factor as it provides the necessary tensile strength of the belt and is so designed to carry the required load as well as to ensure flexibility for proper troughing on the conveyor system. Various synthetic and natural fibers are used for the construction of the carcass in order to meet the requirements for load support, troughing flexibility, resistance to impact, and elongation of the belt. The woven carcass is fully impregnated with PVC compound for making a finished carcass that is resistant to attack from chemicals, bacteria, moisture and oils.
