Model 1100 Litre -Galvanised Metal Wheelie Bin

For a start they are actually 1100ltr as defined by EN840. Other so called 1100ltr metal bins on the market are under 1000ltr in capacity.

The top edge of these wheelie bins is made from single tube pressed into a C-shape and welded to the top of the bin. This gives the wheelie bin extreme strength and rigidity. Other manufacturers use multipart edging which is much weaker and creates voids leading to damaging corrosion.

All Taylor wheelie bins have double skinned, rotary moulded lids. As part of our EN 840 certification for metal bins, lids have to withstand impact tests. Competitors` single skin plastic lids invariably fail this test.

Most other metal wheelie bins are only seal welded from the outside. This means that water and other contaminants settle into the gaps causing corrosion and premature failure. These bins are seal welded from the inside as well as the outside.

These bins are hot dip galvanised after they are manufactured. This really ensures total protection, which is not the case with some other metal bins.

The single piece "comb" bar (shown below) has been developed through decades of work and continued testing with all vehicle lifter manufacturers in Europe. The strength of the lifting bar and its compliance to EN840 is critical to the safety of operators. Someone could get killed if a poorly engineered comb bar fails.
