Model EXP-Pak -Cell Expansion Containers
Charter Medical’s EXP-Pak™ Bio-Containers are intended for the expansion and culture of non-adherent cells. The container is made from a single-web polyolefin gas-permeable film. The integrated tubing allows for functionally closed system filling, feeding, and sampling. EXP-Pak™ can be used to harvest, expand, and transfer cell cultures typically used in cellular therapy and research applications.
- Cell expansion observed with multiple cell models
- Gas-permeable film
- Reusable sampling valve for in-process testing
- Tubing for sterile-weld connections
- Scalable, user-friendly design
EXP-Pak™ containers were evaluated for their ability to promote expansion of cells in suspension. Th2 cell cultures were initiated with CD4+ selected lymphocytes and placed into culture in X-Vivo 20 media (Lonza) containing 5% HI autologous or HI AB plasma, 20 IU/mL IL-2 (Chiron), 1000 IU/mL IL-4 (Cell Genix) and 1uM rapamycin (Sirolimus) in the EXP-Pak™ bag. Cells were stimulated on Day 0 with 3:1 (beads per cell) anti-CD3 and anti-CD28-coated beads (4.5uM Dynal tosylactivated). The data demonstrated cell expansion over a 10-day culture period.
