The F1A has been specifically designed for Light Commercial Vehicles, and is the result of more than 35 years of experience in the field. We are currently the European leader with more than 300,000 units per year produced. The engines in this range guarantee optimum efficiency and minimum oil and fuel consumption, combined with long service intervals. Exceptional load response and extraordinarily efficient power and torque output are achieved with advanced air handling systems such as the electronically controlled variable geometry turbo compressors. All engine features have been developed to guarantee maximum reliability, durability and serviceability. F1A engines feature dual mass flywheel, hydraulic tappets with roller finger followers, multiple fuel injection, suspended oil pan, bed-plate in addition to engine block.

All F1A / engines are available for both transversal and longitudinal installation. F1A can be customized on demand (options include radiator, air filter, muffler and fittings for air compressor and air conditioning installation).

F1 series meets Euro VI Step E / Euro 6d Final certification by 2021 adopting an externally cooled EGR with by-pass combined with 2 SCRs – underfloor and on-filter to meet required after treatment efficiency in all driving conditions.

F1A engines are at the top of the category in terms of power and torque. Thermodynamic performance is optimized by advanced air handling systems. Starting temperature (with glow plugs) can be as low as -25° C.
The exceptional efficiency of the F1A engine was achieved thanks to the combination of multiple elements: variable geometry turbo compressor, engine friction reduction, variable displacement oil pump, cooling system optimization, downspeeding calibration, latest-generation Common Rail technology, multi-valve distribution, maintenance-free hydraulic valve adjusters and advanced air handling systems. 

A bedplate solution, suspended oil sump and 12mm cylinder bore bridge are all typical features of an industrial engine design guaranteeing fewer vibrations, robustness and high reliability. Furthermore, 35,000 hours on the test bench and 1.3 Mln km of testing in the fleet were conducted to increase durability to 350,000 km. Mechanical excellence, latest generation after-treatment, enlarged oil sump and minimum oil consumption allow  service intervals to be extended to as much as 60,000 km*.
