Model HS-805L -Decanters
Manufacture of the HS-805L decanter centrifuge is by IHI of Japan. All support for the centrifuge is located in the USA. Mechanical support including start-up services and eventual reconditioning is handled in shops in Iowa and Houston, Texas. Process support is handled by Kyte Centrifuge Consulting in the persons of Ken Kyte formerly a Process Engineer for Sharples, and David Kyte, Mechanical Engineer. The controls, drive and backdrive package are (we recommend) supplied and supported by Mr. Roger Harasty of Specialty Controls out of Hammond, Indiana.

- The IHI model HS-805L decanter centrifuge is specially designed for 300-400 GPM or more typical ethanol plant stillage feed rates.
- Internals of the HS-805L are being designed and modified to closely match the traditional Sharples internal design well proven in multiple stillage plants for decades. Pond depth is the "deep pool" design for maximum clarity.
- The HS-805L bowl has a large 31.5" bowl diameter resulting in a huge solids holding and conveying capacity, typically producing a drier cake discharge than smaller diameter decanters at equal or even greater G forces.
- The gearbox for the HS-805L is an uncommonly rugged high strength planetary gearbox rated at 223,000 inch-pounds of torque. With this gearbox lower bowl-conveyor differential speeds are possible resulting in very dry cake discharges and a cleaner centrate.
- Pricing for a reconditioned HS-805L is very attractive. One (1) reconditioned HS-805L with drive, backdrive and controls is less expensive than two (2) new decanters by competitive manufacturers rated at only 150 GPM. Operating costs are also lower. Delivery is about 12 weeks from receipt of an acceptable order and 25% deposit.
