Model OXI-50 -For Environmental Products
Initially developed to measure Nitrogen in liquids,OXI-50 excels in speed, security and cost. OXI-50"s high capacity to oxidize the molecules opens widely its application range towards environmental, agro-food and other fields. By generating a photochemical oxidation of invisible components under the ultraviolet radiation in order to convert it to the elements which absorbs the UV (for example: Nitrogen converted to Nitrate or Sugar to Aldehydes).
The sample is exposed to the radiation of a high energy ultraviolet light (low pressure mercury lamp having a beam at 185 nm) in order to break the molecular chain.The newly transformed molecule absorb the UV radiance and can easily be detected by numerous testing or measuring systems. For this last stage, several analysis methods are available such as UV spectrophotometer (PASTEL UV Analyser, UVIKON spectrophotometer), ionic Chromatography, Capillary Electrophoresis, the TOC
meter, Colorimetric kits, etc…
