Model RST 7000 -Rainwater Storage System / Rainwater Reuse System
If you would like to store and use the valuable rainwater treated by our products then please consider our unique fully-contained RST 7000 Rainwater Storage and Re-use system, that can be installed downstream of our RSF units to provide an integrated water treatment and re-use system. The RST 7000 allows you to use the treated rainwater for watering gardens, in washing machines and for equipment washdowns.
A key element of stormwater management is the removal of a variety of pollutants using primary and secondary treatment systems, such as the Ecosol RSF 100, RSF 1000, RSF 4000 and Net Tech solid pollutant filters.
However, the treated stormwater is usually then discharged to either a local river system or to the open sea rather than being used to water gardens, flush toilets, or wash down equipment. It is estimated that use of rainwater run-off could reduce our dependence on mains water by potentially more than 50% and even up to 90%.
It is here that our solution-driven approach is highlighted again. Looking to provide the best integrated solution to the problem we recently developed the RST 7000 Rainwater Storage and Re-use System. The unit, which is delivered complete and fully contained, contains a secondary filter that removes sediment from incoming flows from building roofs and impervious surfaces and stores the filtered water in an underground tank until you are ready to re-use it. Primary filtration of larger solids usually takes place upstream of the RST 7000 unit.
The underground storage of treated rainwater reduces the risk of contamination from bacteria and algae growth and thus provides environmentally-friendly and safe rainwater. Indeed, the RST 7000 poses no risk to public safety and health.
The unit is designed for use on high-density residential and commercial sites where re-use of the rainwater is both viable and desirable. By reducing our dependence on mains water we can cut water-usage costs over time and quickly provide a positive return on the initial capital investment.
The RST 7000 is a fully tested and proven system that meets industry guidelines and standards.
The Ecosol RST 7000 Rainwater Storage and Re-use System is designed to filter and store, ready for re-use, rainwater run-off from building roofs and impervious surfaces.
The unit comes complete and fully-contained ready to be used to reticulate the rainwater to gardens, parks, and even for use in flushing toilets, filling washing machines, and vehicle washdowns.
The RST 7000 consists of a pre-cast concrete pit containing a secondary filter that removes fine sediment from flows. Primary filtration usually takes place upstream of the unit using one of Ecosol’s solid pollutant filters. This helps prevent the pollutants conveyed in the rainwater run-off from entering the unit.
The RST 7000 also has a controlled inlet device to reduce remobilisation of settled solids and manage flow velocities and, as with all Ecosol units, it has an overflow mechanism that enables the unit to discharge excess flows. A backflow valve prevents the rainwater from travelling back into the unit.
The unit comes with a pump that has a floating intake and controller, which can be used to reticulate the stored water to its destination at pre-determined volumes. Trafficable, solid-top sealed access covers provide easy access to the unit for cleaning and maintenance.
One of the key benefits of the RST 7000 is that it is self-cleaning and, therefore, largely maintenance free. Periodic inspections are usually all that is needed.
Together with an upstream primary filtration system the RST 7000 provides an environmentally-friendly cost-effective, and efficient rainwater re-use solution.
The unit comes in a range of sizes with all pipes and fittings included to suit the site-specifics.
The main benefit of the RST 7000 is that it comes complete an
