Model RTU2000 -PLC Based Remote Telemetry Unit (RTU) Control Panel
The RTU2000 is a PLC based Remote Telemetry Unit (RTU) control panel with a text display as an operator interface terminal. The Series 2000 is the complete solution for a packaged RTU system.
The RTU2000 is the answer that all engineers and municipalities have been searching. There is no longer a need to come up with custom installations at each remote site. The RTU2000 will revolutionize the municipal waste water industry by providing a single solution for all sites, thus eliminating the many unreliable, assorted mix of RTU variations built by a range of different contractors with limited expertise and a vast range of workmanship and quality. The RTU2000 not only provides reliable communication, it also sets a standard of quality. Owners and Operators will appreciate the consistent quality and functionality of each site. The RTU2000 is modular and configurable for a wide variety of applications and needs. You can select the necessary options for your applications; please refer to the Ordering Information.
The RTU2000 is capable of monitoring both discrete and analog data, alarming, and controlling remote systems. Examples of data that can be transmitted:
- Lift Station Pump On/Off Status
- Lift Station Pump Failure Conditions
- High Level Alarms
- Actual Analog Levels
- Power Failure
- Flow Rates
- Peripheral Equipment Status (such as a generator)
Many existing RTU suppliers produce proprietary systems, locking the user into communication options and components that are not widely available. The RTU2000 is built on an ‘open architecture’ format. The panel is fabricated with off-the-shelf parts from major manufacturers. Replacement parts and service can be procured from many local distributors and suppliers.
A non-licensed (spread spectrum), licensed radio, or other communication devices such as phone modem, or ethernet, is used to transmit all data back to a Master System. This allows communication from remote sites such as Lift Stations or other unmanned systems. Special adapters can be provided to allow communication with existing systems. Additional Capabilities Include:
- Control of a Local System
- Variable Frequency Drive Control
- Calculation of Run Hours
- Operator Display can be used to view
all information and to send/receive test signals to Master Site for verification of communications
Each RTU2000 is furnished complete with a PLC program configured for the specific application requested by the customer. The RTU2000 will collect and re-transmit the data for the specific installation right out of the box. A simple RTU configuration sheet can be completed by the user upon equipment order. The RTU2000 can be configured to integrate and properly communicate with existing telemetry systems. A total system retrofit is not necessary to utilize the RTU2000.
