Model SkyScan 2214 -Micro CT Systems

SHARE
The SkyScan 2214 offers X-ray microscopy at extreme resolutions with an unparalleled user experience. It is a multipurpose system for samples up to 300 mm in size and resolution down to 60 nm pixel size. The latest technologies in each of the components make this the most complete and versatile system on the market today. Unique X-ray source with <500 nm spot size. Innovative modular design with up to 4 different, field-upgradeable detectors. World’s fastest 3D reconstruction and exact reconstruction algorithm for helical scanning. Largely maintenance-free system, reducing downtime and cost of ownership.

MULTISCALE

The SkyScan 2214 is engineered to be versatile enough to be able to scan at ultra-high resolution and scale up to large, dense samples. To overcome the adherent problem with scanning on multiple resolution scales and with samples that exhibit vastly different X-ray attenuation profiles, the SkyScan 2214 uses an X-ray source that also scales up from nano-focus mode to higher power and can be fitted with up to four different X-ray detectors to appropriately pair with the range of X-ray energies.

ADJUSTING MODES

Achieving ultra-high resolution images or scanning large objects, and everything in between, is made easy by automated processes for rotating the four detectors. Making the setup process quick and easy means more time can be spent scanning samples rather than setting up the instrument. .

ADAPTIVE WORKING DISTANCES

In the SkyScan 2214, the X-ray detector automatically adjusts its distance to the X-ray source in either a NEAR, MID, or FAR position depending on the magnification selected. While some scans may require the detector to have a larger working distance for either high magnification or a larger field of view, a majority can be done in the NEAR position which gives a 5X increase in the signal.

LARGE FIELD OF VIEW

By using large format detectors, it is possible to maintain ultra-high resolution without sacrificing field-of-view.

HIGH ENERGY

The SkyScan 2214 offers a high energy X-ray source up to 160KV, with flexible modes to image very fine structures at high resolution or scale up with more power for larger denser objects.

HELICAL SCAN MODE

In addition to the standard circular scan mode, helical scanning and reconstruction can be selected to optimize image acquisition and minimize reconstruction artifacts on metal objects like implants and other manufactured parts.

HART MODE

High Aspect Ratio Tomography (HART) allows for adaptive rotational steps for faster scanning of high aspect dimensional samples

IN SITU STAGES

Each system comes pre-wired to accept specially designed in-situ stages for dynamic testing. The Materials Testing Stage (MTS) allows for in situ compression or tension testing of materials. Heating and Cooling Stages are ideal for material characterization for thermal effects.

SOFTWARE

The SkyScan 3D Software Suite is supplied as an unlimited site license so each user can have a copy; ensuring workflow from multiple groups is easily managed. Segmented software programs means post acquisition reconstruction, analysis, and modeling can be done on different computers, freeing the system for scanning. Image file outputs are standardized to TIF, BMP, or JPG formats for easy viewing, transferring, or copying.
