ITH stands for Industrie-Technische Konstruktionen Hohmann. This was the name given to the company by Hans Hohmann when he founded it in 1979 in Meschede, Germany. Hans Hohmann`s original idea was as obvious as it was ingenious – the friction and torsion-free tensioning of bolts by means of hydraulic stretching. The first product marketed by the new company was a bolt-tensioning cylinder working on this principle – the ITH Stretch Method. It was to be the companies foundation for a steady process of growth and innovation. With its high-accuracy (± 2,5 %), the bolt-tensioning cylinder is still the most accurate tool on the market for tightening large fasteners.
