RainCatcher PolypipeModular Cellular SUDS Systems for Stormwater Management

SHARE

The modular cellular SUDS systems are engineered for effective stormwater management, integrating modular stormwater attenuation and storage capabilities. These systems include Polypipe storm attenuation crates, reinforced for traffic and loading applications with a vertical compressive strength of up to 61 tonnes per square meter. They are comprised of up to 100% recycled materials, making them suitable for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. The package features the Landflex AS Shoebox Liner, made from a plasticized PV membrane with polyester fabric for enhanced stability, offering resistance to weather, ultraviolet rays, and structural shifts. Additional components like Geotextile G3000 protective fleece and Butyl Tape ensure robust installation. Optional enhancements include vortex flow controls and silt traps. This system supports sustainable drainage with options for rainwater harvesting and integration into environmental strategies.

Landflex AS Shoebox Liner base and lid – a synthetic membrane of plasticised PV with a layer of polyester fabric inserted for dimensional stability. Resistant to weathering and ultraviolet rays. Puncture resistant, rotproof and with no dimensional shrinkage, the material is adaptable to structural movements and remains flexible to low temperatures.

*Polystorm-R (PSM1A) – more information –

Similar to the Polystorm cell, Polystorm-R is used for trafficked and loaded applications and has a vertical compressive strength of 61 tonne per square metre. Polystorm-R has the added benefit of having up to 100% recycled material content. It is ideally suited for housing, commercial and infrastructure projects.

This is a complete attenuation package* to include our high quality Landflex AS shoe box design  impermeable membrane to create a strong, long lasting attenuation tank.

* Tophat for inlet and outlet pipe fitting available on request (pipe sizes required) along with additional optional extras where needed.

The non permeable shoebox style pre-fabricated liner is used to envelope the modular geocellular attenuation units supplied and is usually supplied in two fabricated pieces. The first is the base while the second is for the top with a small overlap down the sides. The two pieces effectively make a shoebox.

The Impermeable membrane will hold water within the structure which can then be released into the mains network or recycled for re-use as required.

The package will be supplied on pallets with clear instructions.

The shoebox impermeable liner comes with a non-woven protector geotextile which should wrap around the whole system before backfilling.

Top hats are available on request (110mm or 160mm from stock with other sizes available on request) with double-sided tape included for complete installation.

For larger projects please contact us direct for your most competitive quote.

Also available: pond liners (pre-fabricated or rolls),geomembrane liners, VOCS and hydrocarbon membranes gas barriers (methane, carbon dioxide, radon, hydrocarbons), gas resistant and damp proof barriers all to engineer’s design.

Sustainable Drainage

A range of Sustainable Drainage Scheme (SuDS) options may be included in your project to support the site development process. A SuDS strategy is usually proposed to ensure surface water runoff can be managed effectively over the lifetime of a development.

Things to consider include:

Project location and surroundings, flooding, pollution and discharge options and locations – example only

Consideration is often made towards the adoption of rainwater harvesting (traditional or attenuation measures such as permeable / porous surfacing such as EcoGrid, rainwater attenuate in the form of ponds or open water features for gradual release, attenuation of rainwater by storing in tanks or sealed water features for gradual release, discharge rainwater direct to a watercourse, discharge rainwater to a surface water sewer, discharge rainwater to the combined sewer), green or brown roofs – examples only.

Consieration to the following is essential when implimenting a site specific rainwater management scheme –

Roof run-off water is generally less polluted than run-off from road surfaces but can still generate pollutants such as sediments and bird faeces.

Pollutants should be captured by collection and filtration systems.

Primary screening devices are often used to prevent leaves and other debris from entering the attenuation tank and first flush devices can be designed to divert the first part of the rainfall away from the main storage tank and can pick up most of the dirt, debris and contaminates that collect on a building roof.
