The open structure makes the Steel feed roller lightweight. This is important when the weight of the harvester head is close to the maximum capacity of the crane and the base machine. The less weight you need to move at the crane head, the more efficient and economical the work becomes. The gaps between the spikes allow the bark to go through the roller and the roller does not get clogged. Thanks to this, the spikes always push through the bark and get a good grip.
