Type 4A molecular sieve is a basic alumino silicate compound. This sodium version of the Type Crystal Structure features a pore size of approximately 4 angstroms. The 4A molecular sieve is designed to capture the majority of molecules with a kinetic diameter smaller than 4 angstroms, while rejecting those with a larger diameter. It can adsorb gas molecules such as oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and simple hydrocarbon chains.
Molecule 4A operates based on the concept of adsorption at the surface, providing an increased surface area for achieving greater absorption potential.
