The Mud Gas Separator, often referred to as a Poor Boy Degasser, is a critical piece of solid control equipment used in drilling operations for efficient gas removal. It is designed with varying vessel diameters of Ø800mm, Ø1000mm, and Ø1200mm, providing treating capacities of 240m3/h, 300m3/h, and 380m3/h, respectively. This equipment manages the treatment of drilling fluids by efficiently separating and venting gas from the mud, preventing dangerous gas buildup in the system. The Mud Gas Separator's structural dimensions, such as 1900×1900×5700mm and up to 2200×2200×6634mm, can accommodate different installation requirements. It also exhibits various weights, depending on the model, ranging from 1650kg to 3200kg, reflecting its robust construction designed to handle tough operational conditions. The Mud Gas Separator is an essential safety system in drilling operations, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the fluid management processes.One drilling site must has one set mud gas separator. The drilling fluid from well contain big bubbles, so firstly it is taken into the mud gas separator. Inner of the mud gas separator has many inclined plates, the drilling fluid with bubbles will knock the plate and then the bubbles are broken, so the gas was released and discharged from gas line. The gas line is connected with flare ignition device, the gas will be burned.
Mud gas separator is high and has low price, the function is removing the waste gas, so it is also called poor boy degasser.
