The working principle behind the sludge dewatering technology

The screw press sludge dewatering machine is essentially a massive press, which consists of a few integral elements ? dewatering drums, rinsing system, process tank, dosing tank, and flocculant tank equipped with a stirrer. The machine looks like a screw within a multi-disc dewatering cylinder, where one disc is fixed and the other one is moving. The front section separates the solid and the liquid, while the back section dewaters the solid.

As the pitch of the screw shaft moves from the thickening section to the dewatering section, the distance between the fixed ring and the pivot ring of the sludge screw press gradually decreases. The screw flights inside the cylinder transport concentrated sludge to the endplate of the press. The outcome is wastewater and solid cake ready for disposal.
