The Multi-disc Screw Press Dehydrator is used to mechanically dewater sludge generated in industrial and municipal wastewater treatment facilities. As the most efficient method of dewatering, it requires minimum staffing and reduces operational expenses.

The thickness of the sludge dewatering drum discs is 0.12″, which is more than the similar models from other manufacturers. Such design guarantees the reliability and durability of the system.

The inner diameter and width of the disks allow for a large internal volume, which in turn maximizes the performance. They are only made of stainless steel and are assembled into a structural frame to achieve a more rigid structure.

The rotating shaft of the sludge screw press continuously runs the moving ring to clean the filtration gaps ? this sophisticated design prevents clogging. In addition, flights edges of the screw are protected by a hard metal strip, ensuring a lifespan of more than 10 years.

The working principle behind the sludge dewatering technology

The screw press sludge dewatering machine is essentially a massive press, which consists of a few integral elements ? dewatering drums, rinsing system, process tank, dosing tank, and flocculant tank equipped with a stirrer. The machine looks like a screw within a multi-disc dewatering cylinder, where one disc is fixed and the other one is moving. The front section separates the solid and the liquid, while the back section dewaters the solid.

As the pitch of the screw shaft moves from the thickening section to the dewatering section, the distance between the fixed ring and the pivot ring of the sludge screw press gradually decreases. The screw flights inside the cylinder transport concentrated sludge to the endplate of the press. The outcome is wastewater and solid cake ready for disposal.
