PromoChrom - Multi-Layer Frits Replacement for SPE Systems
Cartridge clogging during sample extraction can greatly decrease laboratory efficiency. PromoChrom offers multi-layer frits designed to either replace the original cartridge frit or be added on top of it. These frits are less adsorptive to highly hydrophobic analytes, such as PAHs and PCBs, thus reducing the elution volume required for collection when the original frit is replaced. The use of multi-layer frits ensures smoother extraction processes, whether an automated SPE system or a vacuum manifold is employed. PromoChrom also provides a toolkit to facilitate the replacement of the original frits, enhancing laboratory workflows and minimizing downtime caused by clogging issues. Tested on samples with significant particulate content, these frits proved effective in maintaining normal flow where traditional frits failed.Cartridge clogging can cost hours of extraction time, which undermines one of the most important considerations in the lab - efficiency. While this might have been a common and ongoing concern, our specially designed frits can replace the original cartridge frit or simply be added on the top to address the issue. Since this multi-layer frit is less adsorptive to very hydrophobic analytes (such as PAHs and PCBs) than regular frits, the elution volume for collection may be reduced considerably if the original frit is replaced with the multi-layer frit. Cartridge 1 is with original frit.
Cartridge 2 has a multi-layer frit on top of the original frit.
Cartridge 3 has the original frit replaced with the multi-layer frit.
Shown here are samples with considerable amounts of particulates extracted on 6 mL C18 cartridges. After loading 100 mL of sample, cartridge 1 is blocked significantly, whereas cartridges 2 and 3 are still working as normal.
