Axion BioSystems - Model Maestro Pro - Multiwell Microelectrode and Impedance System
The Maestro Pro multiwell microelectrode array (MEA) and impedance system from Axion BioSystems is engineered for advanced research needs within larger laboratory environments. This system accommodates 6-, 24-, 48-, and 96-well MEA plates, along with 96- and 384-well impedance plates, facilitating non-invasive evaluation of cellular activity. It is ideal for studying the electrical activity of excitable cells like neurons and cardiomyocytes, as well as monitoring the growth and death dynamics in cancer cells. The Maestro Pro platform offers real-time, label-free, continuous monitoring, allowing researchers to capture comprehensive datasets and understand cell interactions and responses without the need for repetitive endpoint assays. The platform includes several specialized software modules for neural activity, cardiac performance, impedance measurements, and assay automation. Additionally, the system supports various MEA and impedance assay plates, offering flexibility and compatibility with other Axion BioSystems products like the Lumos light stimulation system, ensuring high-throughput and consistent data acquisition.

Maestro Pro allows for non-invasive evaluation of your cells in an easy-to-use in vitro assay. Whether monitoring the intricate, electrical activity of excitable cells (e.g. neurons and cardiomyocytes), or tracking the growth and death of cancer cells, Maestro Pro allows you to investigate the functionality of your cells in a multiwell plate.
The complete multiwell MEA system
The evaluation of electrically-active cells has historically been tedious, requiring months of training to painstakingly study single cells in low throughputs. By culturing a network of cells over the high electrode count arrays available in each well of our MEA plates, Axion BioSystems’ Maestro Pro multiwell MEA system captures activity across an entire population of cells, with far greater data points per well, detecting activity patterns that would otherwise elude traditional assays.
