Netsens - Road Monitoring Systems
Netsens manufactures sensors and systems for road traffic applications, including pavement sensors, RWIS and PWS. For 20 years Netsens has produced and installed advanced road traffic systems, from RWIS with state-of-the-art meteorological sensors and measurement of road surface condition, used particularly for motor road and highways winter management, optical visibility and precipitation sensors.

Netsens systems for road weather monitoring use advanced environmental sensors, many of which are produced by the company. These include:
- Meteorological sensors (temperature and air humidity, wind direction and speed, pressure)
- Precipitation sensors (type and intensity of precipitation)
- Road sensors (passive and multi-parameter)
- Visibility sensors
Netsens can supply “turnkey” solutions with data collection and transmission system (data logger), also suitable for sites with no access to the electricity grid, in which all systems (sensors, data collection, transmission) use only a solar power kit with a backup battery.

Main compatible weather and environmental sensors:
- Air Temperature: Range -30°C +70°C; accuracy ± 0.2°C; resolution 0.1°C
- Relative Humidity: Range 0 – 100% RH; accuracy ± 2%; resolution 0.1%;
- Wind intensity (ultrasonic): Range 0 – 60 m/s; accuracy 0.2m/s, resolution 0.1m/s
- Wind direction (ultrasonic): Range 0-360°; accuracy ± 2°; resolution 0.1°
- Visibility: measurement range 10 m – 4 km; accuracy: 10% RMSE
- Precipitation sensor: classification rain, snow, sleet, hail, freezing rain; measuring range: 0 .. 200 mm/h
- Road sensor: classification dry, damp, wet, ice; two temperature probes (surface and depth); salt percentage; freezing point.
Installation accessories
- Installation pole: tilting poles to allow operations without the use of baskets or work at height, with installation accessories.
- Photovoltaic kit (optional): photovoltaic panel complete with mounting brackets, rechargeable battery and steel housing;
- Power supply and electrical protections: for connection to the electrical network (optional, as an alternative to the photovoltaic kit) with line/signal insulators and protection against overvoltages and overcurrents
